Thankful Thursday

Good morning and welcome back! It is Thankful Thursday!!! I had a busy, busy, BUSY weekend. I didn't have time to get any posts edited or written up for that matter! Anway I am here today.

I believe a happy heart starts with gratitude, so let's be happy today!

1. My 3 pets this morning. They have been extra cuddly and sweet.

2. I take my safety for granted. I'm truly grateful for the safe neighborhood and city I live in.

3. Work has been stressful lately, but I am grateful for my job. I love being able to make money for my household.

4. A fun weekend with Thomas' parents! I had one of the most fall Saturdays ever.

5. On my morning walks with the dogs, I usually try to call or facetime my granny. She and I will talk for an hour or so and it's the best. I love her so much.

6. My bridesmaid dress finally came in and it made me excited all over again for the wedding next month!!!

7. I ordered a weighted vest to wear for my walks. It is bright pink and 8lbs. I love this thing! I feel like it's making a difference already. I got it to help with my bone density.

8. I'm really thankful for learning there is a hobby lobby 20 minutes from my house! When I lived in Danville VA, Hobby Lobby was my special place. I could spend hours in there soaking in all of the things. I was a little bummed when we moved to Portsmouth and we didn't have one here. But just 20 minutes away, 2 towns over there is one and I'm going there soon!

9. My espresso machine- I use this thing every day. Multiple times per day. Lattes, cappuccinos, you name it. I'm making in my automatic espresso machine.

10. My mother's comment on my blog post last week. She is my biggest supporter. She was sick most of last week, but I'm thankful she's feeling better as of yesterday when I talked to her!

That is all for today. I will see you tomorrow!

xoxo

Our Last Monday in August

Good morning! I am glad you're here 😄. Today I want to talk about what I am currently crocheting. Grab your crochet hooks, a cup of coffee, and let's get into it! I took this a few weeks ago, one Sunday evening. Thomas and I were hanging out on the deck with our dogs, enjoying the warm weather. I should be finishing up with these hot-girl squares and I'll let you know what I make of them! I learned how to make a new hot-girl square... a skull hot-girl square! They are so cute and so much easier than I thought they would be! I decided to learn how to make them one morning a couple weeks ago when Thomas and I were at the beach. It was a perfect morning. We grabbed iced lattes and acai bowls from our favorite beachside cafe, and enjoyed the entire morning in the sand.  My first one kind of resembled a storm trooper, but I have gotten a little better since this picture! I also decided that I am going to make blankets for my family and friends. I have mentioned this before, b...

Fall 2025 Goals!

Hello! I don't know about you, but I am absolutely ready for this long weekend. I have had a crazy week at work.  Anyway, I want to dedicate this post to my Fall 2025 Goals!  In no particular order, here is a list of some of my goals: 1. Decorate - I want to go all out this year. I have a blow up Snoopy and Great Pumpkin inflatable in my Walmart shopping cart online. I want to have a pretty assortment of pumpkins out on my stoop. Last year, we didn't really have decorations up for the trick-or-treaters, and I want to go all out this year. I will definitely be posting pictures of my progress! 2. Watch lots of football - This will be easy as my husband, Thomas, has an entire room in our house dedicated to watching games. Of course, I will be crocheting blankets while he has the game on tv.  3. Dress up for Halloween - We will probably go to one of our friend's Halloween parties this year, and I am excited to dress up! I'm not sure what Thomas and I will go as, but I am ex...

Decor, Discipline, and Maybe even a Scented Candle🍂🕯️

Good morning, reader! I feel a mindful essay coming on! Grab a coffee and maybe a notebook, because this essay has some numbered bullet points!  I have been thinking about discipline a lot lately. I feel like it goes hand in hand with attention span, self-awareness, and ambition. Is it becoming more and more rare? They say with smart phones, everyone's attention spans are diminishing. I have noticed this with myself sometimes. This is not a judgement- just an observation I've made about myself and the world around me. And I want to refine it for myself. I want to be disciplined so that I can live my dream life.  I am dedicating this post to 3 ways to be more disciplined in a world that has little to none. So, let's begin! 1. Why do you want this? I believe you should first recognize why you want to achieve something. Is it for your health? Is it for your career? Maybe it's less extreme than that. Maybe it's for your home to be decorated for Halloween. Whatever it ...
