April So Far + New Things!

Hello reader, and welcome back! I am so glad you're here today! Just a quick recap on what's new with me... I had the best birthday week ever, my new job is great so far, and I have been working out more than ever. I am feeling content and accomplished. What a combo, right?! I'll share some pics of this month so far below! Myrtle Beach Airport! Enjoying iced coffee on the screened in porch! We had perfect weather every day that week in Myrle Beach I've been going to Trader Joes once a week now for the last few weeks, they have the best quick lunches! Thomas and I on our way to enjoy restaurant week in Portsmouth! (yes I'm wearing a turtle neck because we had 40 degree weather that day -_-) This has been me lately. Regina and my yarn in my lap every evening.  Regina and Joey love to get in the Bible Okay, so there are my little moments from the month so far. Since it is Monday, the beginning of the work week, I want to talk about new beginnings.  I love new things ...

Things That Will Always Make Me Happy

Good morning! Today, I want to write about a few things that will ALWAYS make me happy. We need some extra happiness today, so I'll be looking for these things: 1. Coffee! In the morning, afternoon, evening, literally whenever. There is never a  wrong  time for a cup. It's the cozy hug in a mug you didn't know you needed. It's the flavor of the season (peppermint, pumpkin, or lavender depending on the time of year).  2. Coming home at the end of a long day. This is where my chaos and anxiety melt away into peace. I love coming home. My little family is here, greeting me at the door with wagging tails.  3. Reading/flipping through a magazine. Since I was in middle school, I have loved a good magazine. The articles and fashion- it's almost like Pinterest! There's something nostalgic about the glossy pages, flipping back and forth. Oooh, I could get lost in some.  4. Buying yarn! Looking at all of the beautiful colors, neatly wound up into skeins. It's such ...

October 3rd

OMG, it's Mean Girls day (October 3rd, iykyk) and Taylor Swift's new album is out! What a day!  I'm still processing the new album, but overall, I really love it! It's creative, catchy, fun, thought provoking- it's a masterpiece. I need to do a post to unpack it all! Even though I am off tomorrow, I do work on Sunday. Being the checklist lover I am, I have made a list of a few things I would like to achieve this weekend besides working (ugh).  1. Watch at least one of my fall/Halloween movies  2. Go shopping for some shoes I need to wear in the wedding later this month 3. Get all of the hot-girl squares I've been working on together for the cozy blanket I'm gifting to my mom  4. Get our Halloween costumes ordered.  5. Try to relax! This past week has been such a blur. I am hoping that having a handful of easy tasks will make the weekend a nice break from chaos from during the week. Today has been a nice start to said weekend.  I will see you ba...

Thankful Thursday

Hello readers! Probably just my mom and sister, but that's okay! For some crazy reason, I really enjoy typing up my little posts, adding some photos, and publishing it on the internet! Anway, today is  Thankful Thursday , and I gotta say, I love  Thankful Thursdays . I find these are my favorite posts to write. I truly am blessed. Listing out some random things that I'm thankful for always puts me in a great mood. I know I have a lot to pray about, but I think all prayers need to include thanksgiving to the One who gives! Alright, let's go! 1. I am thankful for my home. It's not the biggest, nicest home ever, but I love this place. It is my favorite place I've ever lived. It was built in the early 1950's (1951 I believe). It's simple but we have helped give it some character. I love our cozy rooms, and I love the deck and backyard area. Decorating it has been such a joyous project, and it's ongoing! I am always looking for ways to make the most of wh...

Hobby Lobby Visit 01

Hello! I am excited to tell you that I finally went to my local Hobby Lobby! Ah, it felt good to go in there again. I haven't been in one in probably 3 years!  All of the fall decor is out on display, shelves are packed with orange pumpkins, hay bales, and little woodland creatures. I even saw some red and green in there for the next season! I wanted to buy one or two of everything in there, but I was good and only bought some stuff for my dining room table and kitchen.  After looking for some inspiration my favorite app, Pinterest, I found similar items in the store and put them together when I got home.  Then a of couple days later, I finally put out some more of my fall decor, which is basically a collection of pumpkins. We always have some skulls out year-round, so it's an easy transition for my home to go from normal to fall. I just love my skull Barefoot Dreams blanket ❤💀 So far, this fall has been such a treat for me. We've had great weather so far, I've wo...

Our Last Monday in August

Good morning! I am glad you're here 😄. Today I want to talk about what I am currently crocheting. Grab your crochet hooks, a cup of coffee, and let's get into it! I took this a few weeks ago, one Sunday evening. Thomas and I were hanging out on the deck with our dogs, enjoying the warm weather. I should be finishing up with these hot-girl squares and I'll let you know what I make of them! I learned how to make a new hot-girl square... a skull hot-girl square! They are so cute and so much easier than I thought they would be! I decided to learn how to make them one morning a couple weeks ago when Thomas and I were at the beach. It was a perfect morning. We grabbed iced lattes and acai bowls from our favorite beachside cafe, and enjoyed the entire morning in the sand.  My first one kind of resembled a storm trooper, but I have gotten a little better since this picture! I also decided that I am going to make blankets for my family and friends. I have mentioned this before, b...

What I'm Crocheting/Knitting

Since I was a little girl, I have always wanted to be able to knit and crochet. As crazy as it sounds. I used to think (and I totally still do) that knitting something with a beautiful color yarn and drinking a hot cup of tea or coffee would be the epitome of cool adulthood. I can remember being a little girl, about six or seven, at Granny's house. I would take one of her Afghans off the couch, drape it over my legs and use pencils to pretend I was making it myself. I was a strange kid.  Anyway, I am kind of self taught at crocheting and knitting, so they are both not very good. After watching and rewinding dozens of videos, I have muddled my way through some blankets and scarves, even a sweater that is... let's just say it is better left hanging up in the darkest part of my closet. I am hopeful that, just like with any skill, I will get better as I continue to practice.  One of my favorite times to crochet or knit is in the fall. My husband is really into football, so most da...
