Hello readers! Probably just my mom and sister, but that's okay! For some crazy reason, I really enjoy typing up my little posts, adding some photos, and publishing it on the internet!
Anway, today is Thankful Thursday, and I gotta say, I love Thankful Thursdays. I find these are my favorite posts to write. I truly am blessed. Listing out some random things that I'm thankful for always puts me in a great mood. I know I have a lot to pray about, but I think all prayers need to include thanksgiving to the One who gives!
Alright, let's go!
1. I am thankful for my home. It's not the biggest, nicest home ever, but I love this place. It is my favorite place I've ever lived. It was built in the early 1950's (1951 I believe). It's simple but we have helped give it some character. I love our cozy rooms, and I love the deck and backyard area. Decorating it has been such a joyous project, and it's ongoing! I am always looking for ways to make the most of what we have to work with here. This is for sure the home I want to raise my kids in.
2. My family. Since the passing of my dear uncle, we've been in closer contact with one another. Whether it's texting or facetiming, we are always talking. I always feel reset after speaking with my family. They ground me.
3. My health journey. I have started going to the gym more days a week and I've been walking more, as you already know by all of the dog walking photos. The reason for the increase in working out is because I have been inspired by the book I'm currently reading, Outlive by Peter Attia. In his book he talks about how if we can change our mindset of health outcomes, mainly involving those around chronic disease states, we can probably live a healthier life, longer. It's about getting healthier as you age, which is something we don't hear of in the healthcare world. I'm not finished with it yet, but it's already making me rethink some of my daily decisions. If I know heart disease runs in my family, what am I doing right now to decrease my chances of having a cardiovascular event in my 40s or 50s? If I don't want to be an elderly lady who breaks her hip and all her health goes down the drain, I need to increase my bone density now.
4. Coffee in my pumpkin mugs. I feel like that says it all right there! Having my cozy coffee in my cute little mug is simply magical. It's a fall dream come true. And it's something I can do multiple times a day! It will never lose its luster to me.
5. Quiet time in the morning. This is truly the best way to start every single day. It goes right along with my coffee in my pumpkin mug, reading my Bible and doing my daily study. I could do this all day. I have said this multiple times that I could read my Bible all day. I wish there were a job where you got paid to read it. I love reading and taking notes, looking up some answers to questions, and getting sidetracked- I hope I never lose this love for reading the word.
6. Fall weather and the outfits it calls for. Fall plans are my favorite occasions to dress for. I love boots with a heel, a skirt or skort, and a sweater, all in fall colors! I love looking at fall fashion on Pinterest, even in the summer. Fall outfits are my favorite outfits ever.
7. Going out this Saturday with some friends! We haven't gotten together in a while, so I'm excited to see everyone and see how they're doing! I love them all so much!
8. The wedding in 4 weeks! I am so ready to see my family again and celebrate this beautiful couple! I am so proud of them. Their wedding will be such a sweet event.
9. Honestly, I'm thankful for this blog. I really do love making posts. It makes me think of the creative writing class I took in high school. We would have journal topics every day and we were to spend the first 15ish minutes of class writing about it. I LOVED this daily assignment. I have kept a diary for most of my life, and I love to write. This is sort of like a hobby mixed with therapy for me. I just love writing and storytelling so much!
10. Last but not least, I am thankful for Hobby Lobby. I love this store; always have, always will. When I lived in Danville VA, it was my happy store. I would go to Starbucks, grab a delicious beverage, and roam the store. Sometimes I wouldn't even buy anything, I'd just go in and look around. It really does make me happy to go in there, listen to the encouraging music they have playing, and feel festive. It's like walking behind the scenes of a Hallmark movie.
This is all for today, I hope you're feeling thankful today too because it really does lead to happiness 😊
