Spring Has Me Writing Again πŸŒΌπŸ’›

It has been a while, but I am back! It is so nice to be typing here again. After a busy fall, a holiday season that didn't slow down for a minute, and the harshest winter I've ever lived through, I finally feel like I can breathe, and write, again. I will do a quick recap of my life and then explain my plans for the future of this blog.

So, since my last post was in October, life has been full. Here's a little peek at what's been happening behind the scenes:

1. My cousin's wedding was a success! It was beautiful and now they are actually pregnant!!! I can't wait to meet their baby girl.

2. Thomas and I were fortunate to be a part of our friends' engagement that took place in Boston in December! It was so much fun celebrating the two of them and surprising the bride to be! Now I am excited to help her plan their wedding for next year!

3. I'm changing my career from retail pharmacy to hospital inpatient pharmacy! I start in exactly 3 weeks from today. I am very happy about this change.

4. I learned how to crochet the cutest pie potholders. OMG, these are literally the most fun things to make. I will post some pictures of them soon. I've made some winter beanies too (although I call these types of hats "toboggans", which is not the case here in New England like it is in Southwestern Virginia).

5. We are going to Myrtle Beach SC in exactly 1 week from today! For the whole week! I am so ready for warmer weather, and a nice long break from the normal day to day grind. This is a welcomed vacation for Thomas and me.

Okay, now my plans for this blog. I want to start writing again. I really have missed it. Even if I don't have many readers, I like publishing my posts out into the world. It's like a therapeutic facebook post or something. Anyway, instead of pushing myself to post 5 days a week, I'm choosing a gentler, more relaxed rhythm- 2 to 3 posts per week that feel more meaningful and intentional. This way will allow me to have some time in between posts to get some quality content together with less pressure for quantity.

Right now, in my life, I feel a lot of excitement. Excitement for my new job, this blog reboot, and life in general. It almost feels like spring here (which means summer isn't too far behind!)! All of our snow finally melted, and I can see our deck again. I have missed that deck. Hopefully when we get back from SC, we can start spending more time outside other than our dog walks.

Spring is the time to start over, to refresh! I am looking forward to what the rest of this season has in store. Until next time!

xoxo

Our Last Monday in August

Good morning! I am glad you're here πŸ˜„. Today I want to talk about what I am currently crocheting. Grab your crochet hooks, a cup of coffee, and let's get into it! I took this a few weeks ago, one Sunday evening. Thomas and I were hanging out on the deck with our dogs, enjoying the warm weather. I should be finishing up with these hot-girl squares and I'll let you know what I make of them! I learned how to make a new hot-girl square... a skull hot-girl square! They are so cute and so much easier than I thought they would be! I decided to learn how to make them one morning a couple weeks ago when Thomas and I were at the beach. It was a perfect morning. We grabbed iced lattes and acai bowls from our favorite beachside cafe, and enjoyed the entire morning in the sand.  My first one kind of resembled a storm trooper, but I have gotten a little better since this picture! I also decided that I am going to make blankets for my family and friends. I have mentioned this before, b...

Fall 2025 Goals!

Hello! I don't know about you, but I am absolutely ready for this long weekend. I have had a crazy week at work.  Anyway, I want to dedicate this post to my Fall 2025 Goals!  In no particular order, here is a list of some of my goals: 1. Decorate - I want to go all out this year. I have a blow up Snoopy and Great Pumpkin inflatable in my Walmart shopping cart online. I want to have a pretty assortment of pumpkins out on my stoop. Last year, we didn't really have decorations up for the trick-or-treaters, and I want to go all out this year. I will definitely be posting pictures of my progress! 2. Watch lots of football - This will be easy as my husband, Thomas, has an entire room in our house dedicated to watching games. Of course, I will be crocheting blankets while he has the game on tv.  3. Dress up for Halloween - We will probably go to one of our friend's Halloween parties this year, and I am excited to dress up! I'm not sure what Thomas and I will go as, but I am ex...

Decor, Discipline, and Maybe even a Scented CandleπŸ‚πŸ•―️

Good morning, reader! I feel a mindful essay coming on! Grab a coffee and maybe a notebook, because this essay has some numbered bullet points!  I have been thinking about discipline a lot lately. I feel like it goes hand in hand with attention span, self-awareness, and ambition. Is it becoming more and more rare? They say with smart phones, everyone's attention spans are diminishing. I have noticed this with myself sometimes. This is not a judgement- just an observation I've made about myself and the world around me. And I want to refine it for myself. I want to be disciplined so that I can live my dream life.  I am dedicating this post to 3 ways to be more disciplined in a world that has little to none. So, let's begin! 1. Why do you want this? I believe you should first recognize why you want to achieve something. Is it for your health? Is it for your career? Maybe it's less extreme than that. Maybe it's for your home to be decorated for Halloween. Whatever it ...
