Slow mornings… Is there anything better than a nice, slow morning? Whether you are able to sleep in a couple extra hours, or if you are still the early riser you are on a work day, just taking everything slow. Enjoying the coffee for a little bit longer. Extending quiet time out a little longer. Maybe even going to brunch. If you’re like me, you probably associate slow mornings with vacation, and everyone is their best self on vacation.

I love to spend slow mornings on my deck, with coffee, my bible and whatever Bible study I’m working through. My dogs accompany me as well. They run around the yard until they get tired from the heat and then they walk back up to the deck to lie down near me.
Another slow morning luxury- getting ready. Normally, I am busting through my usual 15 minute routine and trying to get out the door sooner rather than later. When I am able to get ready not in a rush- it is transcendent. I listen to a podcast, whatever new audio book I’m listening to and it’s just amazing. I'm able to try out new eyeshadow combos, pluck my eyebrows, maybe even change my nail color. You should try it some time. It’s truly magical.

And look who else likes when I take my time getting ready in the mornings!
Little Chandler! This is the pet bed in my office, where I get ready in the mornings, doing my makeup and such.
Slow mornings also means MORE COFFEE. I honestly could drink coffee all day long, but something about an endless cafe au lait… you can’t beat it. If I'm feeling a little bloated or stuffy, I'll have a cup of herbal tea after my first-thing-in-the-morning cup of coffee. The bonus coffee in the morning at my house is one of my favorite things ever. Especially in one of my favorite mugs.
And I have many favorite mugs!
No matter what it is that you do on your slow mornings, I just hope you are able to savor it. Those slow, boring mornings are the ones I desperately hold on to when I am in a busy season. When stress from work or family is getting to be too much, I find myself craving one of my slow mornings. So, savor them, cherish them, and make them nice and slow.
Thank you so much for reading today. I hope you come back to read more of my blog posts!
Cheers and good morning!
