What a Nice Weekend!

 Good morning! Welcome back!

I want to give you a weekend recap! I had the best weekend with Thomas and our pets!

Friday was nice for me. It is probably my last full Friday off for a while. I am about to switch up some of my work schedule where I'll have more shifts per week, but they'll be shorter. So goodbye 3 day weekend every other weekend. With that in mind, I enjoyed it. I spent Friday morning relaxing with quiet time and snuggling my pets. Friday afternoon I spent a lot of time reading a new book. Then Thomas got home from work and we hung out in the pool for a few hours. Then we watched the new movie Sinners starring Michael B. Jordan to end the night!

Saturday morning was great. We slept in some, I fixed us some scrambled egg and hashbrown bowls, had a couple coffee drinks and just took everything slow. I read more in my book, he got caught up on some of his podcasts from the week. We both worked out then came home to get ready for our reservation at Moxy! We had a delicious meal there and came home to more reading and watching a couple highlights from a podcast we both like.

Here is a glimpse of our walk downtown to Moxy

Sunday followed suit. We slept in a little bit and went to the 11 o'clock service at our church. We both really enjoyed the lesson. I took some notes that I know I'll be referring to a lot as I begin this busy season at work (my pharmacy just got our flu shots). We went to the grocery store after, came home, and hung out outside for hours, swimming and sitting in our comfy deck chairs. It was a nice day! It was a slow, uneventful weekend, but it was SO NICE! It was just what we needed after a pretty crazy start to July.

White wine and crocheting outside, yes please!

Anyway, it's just a short post today, but I am excited for the rest of this week! I will be trying to remember what a great weekend I just had all throughout this week. I hope you have a great day!

Our Last Monday in August

Good morning! I am glad you're here 😄. Today I want to talk about what I am currently crocheting. Grab your crochet hooks, a cup of coffee, and let's get into it! I took this a few weeks ago, one Sunday evening. Thomas and I were hanging out on the deck with our dogs, enjoying the warm weather. I should be finishing up with these hot-girl squares and I'll let you know what I make of them! I learned how to make a new hot-girl square... a skull hot-girl square! They are so cute and so much easier than I thought they would be! I decided to learn how to make them one morning a couple weeks ago when Thomas and I were at the beach. It was a perfect morning. We grabbed iced lattes and acai bowls from our favorite beachside cafe, and enjoyed the entire morning in the sand.  My first one kind of resembled a storm trooper, but I have gotten a little better since this picture! I also decided that I am going to make blankets for my family and friends. I have mentioned this before, b...

Fall 2025 Goals!

Hello! I don't know about you, but I am absolutely ready for this long weekend. I have had a crazy week at work.  Anyway, I want to dedicate this post to my Fall 2025 Goals!  In no particular order, here is a list of some of my goals: 1. Decorate - I want to go all out this year. I have a blow up Snoopy and Great Pumpkin inflatable in my Walmart shopping cart online. I want to have a pretty assortment of pumpkins out on my stoop. Last year, we didn't really have decorations up for the trick-or-treaters, and I want to go all out this year. I will definitely be posting pictures of my progress! 2. Watch lots of football - This will be easy as my husband, Thomas, has an entire room in our house dedicated to watching games. Of course, I will be crocheting blankets while he has the game on tv.  3. Dress up for Halloween - We will probably go to one of our friend's Halloween parties this year, and I am excited to dress up! I'm not sure what Thomas and I will go as, but I am ex...

Decor, Discipline, and Maybe even a Scented Candle🍂🕯️

Good morning, reader! I feel a mindful essay coming on! Grab a coffee and maybe a notebook, because this essay has some numbered bullet points!  I have been thinking about discipline a lot lately. I feel like it goes hand in hand with attention span, self-awareness, and ambition. Is it becoming more and more rare? They say with smart phones, everyone's attention spans are diminishing. I have noticed this with myself sometimes. This is not a judgement- just an observation I've made about myself and the world around me. And I want to refine it for myself. I want to be disciplined so that I can live my dream life.  I am dedicating this post to 3 ways to be more disciplined in a world that has little to none. So, let's begin! 1. Why do you want this? I believe you should first recognize why you want to achieve something. Is it for your health? Is it for your career? Maybe it's less extreme than that. Maybe it's for your home to be decorated for Halloween. Whatever it ...
