5 Ways to Have a Magical October ๐Ÿ‘ป

Good morning, reader! Today, we are going to talk about 5 ways to turn a normal day in October into a MAGICAL day in October. This post is an easy-to-do gamechanger, so grab a cozy blanket, yummy warm beverage (in the appropriate mug as you'll read later on!), and settle in!

1. Enjoy the darker evenings!

In less than a month, Daylight Saving Time ends here in NH. It's kind of already happening now, with the sky getting darker at 5:30. I understand some people reallllly don't like it, but it's happening anyway. Instead of letting it make you upset, embrace it! It sucks getting home at "night", I know, but honestly, it's moody. It changes the scene- kind of like you're in a movie. Think of it as a cozy blanket you're putting on at the end of the day. Maybe I'm grasping for straws here, but it is something that we have to deal with, so let's make the best of it!

2. It's almost Halloween, wear your black eyeliner!

I have always loved dressing up. As a kid, a teenager for spirit week at school, and now for basically just Halloween. To go along with October being the spooky month, let's change up our regular every day makeup routine. Add a little bit extra eyeliner. It's not clean girl summer anymore! It's cozy girl fall! And she wears a nice winged eyeliner.

3. Wear the black turtleneck.

To go along with #2, I say wear the black turtle neck! Wear all black. It's a classy look anyway, but in the fall, its magical. My black turtlenecks are probably my favorite article of clothing I own. I wish I could wear them year round. You can wear them with your hair up in a bun, or down, straight or curled. You can wear one with a skirt and boots (the ultimate combo) or with black pants, jeans, etc. A black turtle neck is so versatile. Plus, you can get a more fitted one, loose fitting one, or an oversized one to change the look all together.

4. Buy at least 1 pumpkin.

Go to the grocery store, buy a pumpkin, and set it somewhere outside your house or apartment so you see it every day when you leave or come home. This will make you smile every time you see it. You can carve it into something spooky, or just leave it alone, as is. They are the perfect fall decoration, easy and fairly cheap. If I could afford it, though, I would have bought 2 of every kind of pumpkin I saw at the pumpkin patch last month...

5. Get a little ghost mug.

Or any kind of Halloween themed mug! We have tons of skull mugs, pumpkin mugs, but the little ghost is definitely Halloween only for us. I know they sell them at Walmart and Target, and probably at HomeGoods too. Drinking a warm beverage out of the cute little Halloween mug makes it all seem intentional. It's celebrating without really doing anything. Simple and delicious! ๐Ÿ‘ป

Well, that is all I have for today. I hope you're able to take something away from my list of ways to make an ordinary October day more magical! I truly love this time of year. It's dreamy, cozy, pumpkin spice flavored, and sets the stage for Christmas time! Enjoy it while it's here. Make the best of it, even if you're not a fan.

See you next time!

xoxo

Our Last Monday in August

Good morning! I am glad you're here ๐Ÿ˜„. Today I want to talk about what I am currently crocheting. Grab your crochet hooks, a cup of coffee, and let's get into it! I took this a few weeks ago, one Sunday evening. Thomas and I were hanging out on the deck with our dogs, enjoying the warm weather. I should be finishing up with these hot-girl squares and I'll let you know what I make of them! I learned how to make a new hot-girl square... a skull hot-girl square! They are so cute and so much easier than I thought they would be! I decided to learn how to make them one morning a couple weeks ago when Thomas and I were at the beach. It was a perfect morning. We grabbed iced lattes and acai bowls from our favorite beachside cafe, and enjoyed the entire morning in the sand.  My first one kind of resembled a storm trooper, but I have gotten a little better since this picture! I also decided that I am going to make blankets for my family and friends. I have mentioned this before, b...

Fall 2025 Goals!

Hello! I don't know about you, but I am absolutely ready for this long weekend. I have had a crazy week at work.  Anyway, I want to dedicate this post to my Fall 2025 Goals!  In no particular order, here is a list of some of my goals: 1. Decorate - I want to go all out this year. I have a blow up Snoopy and Great Pumpkin inflatable in my Walmart shopping cart online. I want to have a pretty assortment of pumpkins out on my stoop. Last year, we didn't really have decorations up for the trick-or-treaters, and I want to go all out this year. I will definitely be posting pictures of my progress! 2. Watch lots of football - This will be easy as my husband, Thomas, has an entire room in our house dedicated to watching games. Of course, I will be crocheting blankets while he has the game on tv.  3. Dress up for Halloween - We will probably go to one of our friend's Halloween parties this year, and I am excited to dress up! I'm not sure what Thomas and I will go as, but I am ex...

Decor, Discipline, and Maybe even a Scented Candle๐Ÿ‚๐Ÿ•ฏ️

Good morning, reader! I feel a mindful essay coming on! Grab a coffee and maybe a notebook, because this essay has some numbered bullet points!  I have been thinking about discipline a lot lately. I feel like it goes hand in hand with attention span, self-awareness, and ambition. Is it becoming more and more rare? They say with smart phones, everyone's attention spans are diminishing. I have noticed this with myself sometimes. This is not a judgement- just an observation I've made about myself and the world around me. And I want to refine it for myself. I want to be disciplined so that I can live my dream life.  I am dedicating this post to 3 ways to be more disciplined in a world that has little to none. So, let's begin! 1. Why do you want this? I believe you should first recognize why you want to achieve something. Is it for your health? Is it for your career? Maybe it's less extreme than that. Maybe it's for your home to be decorated for Halloween. Whatever it ...
