Happy October 1! It is time to start thinking about Halloween fun such as, costumes, parties and movies to watch!
Today, I wanted to list some of my all-time favorite fall/Halloween movies. Now you'll notice I'm kind of all over the place. I love fall themed movies, not just the witchy, ghost, scary clown stuff. In fact, I am NOT a scary movie person at all, so you will NOT see any horror movies listed, although I have suffered through several double dates in the movie theater covering my face with popcorn and a large cherry vanilla coke!
Anyway, let's get to the list! These are listed in no particular order 🍂
1. Scooby-Doo
The live action movie that came out in 2002. I just love that movie, and the sequel too! I'll use them both for one spot on my list. I loved the cast so much. They were family friendly movies that I still can enjoy now. These movies feel like my childhood.
2. Sweet Home Alabama
This movie is just such a feel good, fall movie for me. It's like comfort food. It just makes you feel good about life. I love Reese Witherspoon so much in this movie! So there isn't really anything happening having to do with Halloween or Thanksgiving, but the scenery in the background seems to be fall. Thus, it is on my list.
3. The Blind Side
Ah, this movie is football, tragedy, and also a great cast. Is there anything Sandra can't do?
4. Remember the Titans
Dear Lord, this movie is also football, tragedy, great cast... I may not have a great variety here on this list! But that's okay! This story is so beautiful. It has some history, a little bit of action, and a lot of character growth. It's a great story.
5. Breakfast at Tiffany's
This movie is not football at all, but it takes place in New York City in the fall. I LOVE everything about this movie. The fashion, the story, and of course, Audrey Hepburn makes this movie amazing. I love the sweater she's wearing in the scene where she starts out knitting in her apartment then gets arrested at the end of the day; so elegant and casual. This movie will be a classic forever.
6. Bell, Book, and Candle
This movie actually takes place during Christmas, but it's about a witch! I love this movie mainly because of James Stewart. He is one of my all-time favorite actors. I love the fashion in this movie as well. Mid-century modern is timeless. The story is kind of out there, but it's very entertaining!
7. It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Call it a tv special instead of a movie if you want to, but I'm including it in my list. I always feel so nostalgic and cozy inside after watching any of the Peanuts classic cartoons.
8. You've Got Mail
Nancy Meyers, the queen of cozy cinema. The entire movie is the aesthetic I want to live in. Bookstores, cafes, pumpkins, life in the city... it's a dream come true.
I'm sure I could keep listing fall/Halloween movies, but I do need to hop off here to get my day going! I hope you have a great start to your October and that we are both able to indulge in some beautifully crafted fall themed film this month! 🍂
See you next time!
xoxo
